Humility

HumilityI'm not going to weigh in on the debates on Domain Specific Languages and if Joel Spolsky is or isn't being a hypocrite (here is a good pointer if you want to read about it, but in my opinion, he isn't). But the someone's extraordinary humility does need to be pointed out. That would be of Matz, the creator of the Ruby programming language, in this post. (I leave the context of the original post in, so I am bolding his words.)

|I too found that beyond ironic.

That indicates that he trusts himself, and not me (Ruby). And I think he's right.

Why can't other software creators exhibit this kind of humility?
